Yes you’re right I did say whatever religion and yes I only mentioned just a few but that is what you do when you give examples,

ahh, your examples were what? that's why i left a few.

I did not say "I believe" religion is needed for a sense of purpose and identity but that some people do and I respect their belief.

funny. thats not the sense i got from your earlier post. i'll repost it for you.

I still beleive that religion is very important

as for me struggling? you appear to be the one struggling as to your arguement. you should take time to read your arguements of before. otherwise you sound like your backtracking from previous statements. and trust me, i don't struggle for purpose. or else i'd be religious. or american.

Oh please... Yes I do believe religion is 'important' but it is 'others' who see it as important to their sense of identity or purpose but even if I did, so what?
Is this the best criticism you can up with? I think you are struggling and obviously slightly disturbed as can be seen in your hatred towards just about anything. First religion and now America, talk about tarring everyone with the same brush.

So tell me what is so superior about your beliefs and country of origin that makes you feel you have the right to claim that everyone else is wrong?

why do you wish to keep making this personal instead of what this forum is for? DEBATE.
as for me, i have no supernatural beliefs. and i live where beliefs aren't pushed within society. it's up to the person to decide. quite frankly, i dislike the ideal of the indoctrination that has been seen in generations passed and am pleased that these practises have been outlawed in the public school systems in many countries(as well as in public places as well) . we live in multicultural societies, where the views of only one belief should not be made to stand above all others. hence my disregard toward christian ideals most, since it's most prominent here.
and my views are MY views, notnecessarily superior views. if you wish to debate, then debate. making it personal is a right wing tactic.

To be fair it does sound like you have had a hard time with Christianity however just because you have had a bad experience does not mean that all Christian views and ideology are bad. That’s like a person who has been beaten up by an Asian person saying that all Asians are violent and therefore should be criminalized.
You talk about multiculturalism but fail to recognise the essence of true multiculturalism of which promotes diversity and difference therefore whilst religious groups have to respect that others do not adhere to their beliefs and values it is also important that we respect theirs.
You also keep calling me far right, but I’m black, support immigration and I respect difference. These are not far right ideals.
I also do not think you understand concepts of identity, post-modernism or indeed multiculturalism and so I would like to recommend the following books for you to read.

1) Multiculturalism without Culture – By Anne Phillips
2) Multicultural Citizenship - By Will Kymlicka
3) Modernity and Self-Identity – By Anthony Giddens
4) Concepts of the Self – By Anthony Elliot
5) Political Ideologies – By Andrew Heywood

I haven't put this list together in order to patronise you but more to encourage you to look past what 'seems' like common sense and I'm pretty sure that anyone of these books will challenge your views as they did my own.
