Twelve classic episodes from the PBS TV series devoted to WW2's most momentous battles. This documentary explores some of the most significant battles of the Second World War, including: The Battle of France, The Battle of Britain, The Battle of Midway, The Battle of Stalingrad, The Battle of Normandy, The Battle of Berlin, The Battle for North Africa, The Battle of The Atlantic, The Battle for Russia, The Battle for Italy, The Battle of Leyte Gulf, and The Battle of The Rhine.
If you have never seen this series, it's probably the best edited and comprehensive World War II documentary, and in my opinion most unbiased with detailed focus on the pivotal battles of World War II. But don't take just my word for it, read the reviews included after the episode guide. This 12 part series aired in the United States long ago on PBS, and only returned once on the Discovery channel. Note, the titles are a bit misleading at times. For instance, The Battle of France actually includes detailed battles for Poland and Belgium also. Similarly, The Battle of Midway has complete coverage of the preliminary carrier battle in the Coral Sea and early Japanese expansion across Asia.
